The journey from zero to 1250 crore.
He smiles…saying, “The journey was good and it was a long journey.” (A little silence… and the whole journey passed through the eyes in a moment!)
He was Gopal Namkin's visionary Bipinbhai Hadwani during an interview.

Gopal Namkeen. Journey from zero to 1250 crore. Gopal Namkeen has become a big brand in Gujarat and his journey is also very interesting.
Bipinbhai's native village is Bhadra village of Jamkandorna. He took his primary and secondary education there. His father Vitthalbhai used to make various snacks in a small shop and sell them in the same village. That was their old business. All the brothers inherited this business and all were craftsmen of making snacks. He failed in three subjects in class XII and did not pursue further studies.
In 1990, Bipinbhai came to Rajkot alone. In partnership with a cousin, he started working with the brand name -'Gokul'. He worked for four years and gave the whole business to him, including the brand name.
In 1994, he started a different business with the brand name ‘Gopal’. Most importantly, the business was started without any investment. He used to borrow flour, oil, spices and other ingredients and used to prepare snacks himself. He also packed them manually and passed them to vendors for sale. Gradually, the business cycle went on by reinvesting the earned money. He has to prepare the same snacks in which he used to live. This way, he ran the business for four years.
Then, the factory was set up in the industrial area of Haripar Pal. But, due to the considerably high cost of octroi, he was unable to develop it. So, he had to sell and return to the city again. He worked in the city for seven years. Gradually, he expanded the business.
But the main reason for this development was to make R&D by himself rather than buying manufacturing machinery. The advantage of making this machinery of his own was that they were 80-90% cheaper than the market price. He maintained the quality and kept his father's word.
He stuck to his father's mantra, "Feed the customer the same food that we eat." He never tried to bring down the cost of products with cheap raw materials. We resorted to automation to bring down the cost. The old space was gone. So, he spent two years in Vadwajadi. But there was a shortage of space. So, in 2010, he bought a factory in Metoda. The existing construction was a great advantage and production started immediately. The graph of progress went up unbelievably.
From 2007 to 2012, the company reached 250 crore from 2.5 crore. Every year, the company grew by 250 crore and reached 1200 crore. The company's goal was to reduce the cost by backward integration and pass on its benefit to the customer. Bipinbhai says, "We planted the seeds. People plant trees directly. That's why they can't go long.”
“People are aimed to make money while our objective is to increase employment."
"Nowadays, companies don’t think like a village girl who has never travelled even in a reservation compartment, but to take a flight directly. Companies are thinking about how to get more jobs done at lower salaries or how to exploit the employee.”
“Competition, lack of money and unpaid borrowings by vendors are part of business. We used to look for money every day. One day, I decided not to grant goods on credit. Only then, the situation of the company improved.”
Today, a huge plant of Gopal Namkeen is being built on 34 acres of land in Nagpur. More than 2000 people are getting employment.
